SHC grants bail to DAO under charges of corruption.

HYDERABAD -- A District Accounts Officer (DAO) implicated in a reference of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was granted bail by Sindh High Court here on Friday.

The Hyderabad Circuit Bench granted the interim bail to the officer Ramesh Jhamandas, who was posted in Tharparkar, against a surety of Rs.300,000 till May 21 while putting the respondents on notice for the same date.

According to the reference, Jhamandas along with other officials caused a gross loss of Rs.39.7 million to the exchequer through embezzlement and appointment of 40 to 45 teaching and non-teaching staff in the Education Department.
