Shangla shops sealed over 'unfair' flour distribution.

SHANGLA -- The district administration on Thursday sealed shops of four flour dealers and blacklisted six over 'unfair' distribution of subsidised flour to residents.

Also, 10 flour dealers were fined for the same offence.

The action was taken on the orders of deputy commissioner Mohammad Ihteshamul Haq, according to an official statement.

The DC said the subsidised flour's distribution was being supervised across the district with the assistant commissioners visiting flour mills and dealers on a daily basis.

He said a total of Rs32,000 fine had been imposed on 10 flour dealers, while four shops selling subsidised flour were sealed over irregularities in distribution.

Mr Haq said six dealers were blacklisted besides the cancellation of their licences for getting subsidised flour from mills.

He said the police also booked flour dealers, who fleeced consumers and violated the government's guidelines for the sale of subsidised flour.

The DC said the new list of flour dealers would be issued shortly.
