Shangla boy dies of dengue, claims family.

SHANGLA -- A 17-year-old boy died of dengue fever in Maira area of Bisham tehsil, his family claimed on Monday.

Saeedullah, uncle of the victim, Atta-ur-Rehman of Koz Bara village of Maira union council, said his nephew expired at the Saidu Teaching Hospital in Swat. He said the victim was diagnosed with dengue a week ago and was under treatment at a local hospital, but after his condition did not improve, he was shifted to Swat, where he died.

Saeedullah said the deceased had been suffering from severe fever.

However, district health officer Mohammad Riaz denied the claim of the family and termed the case as natural death caused by encephalitis.
