Senate secretariat deputy secretary stands deprived of promotion due to office politics.

ISLAMABAD -- Senate secretariat officer has been deprived of right to promotion through undue elevation of his two junior officers against the rules and regulations.

He fell victim to politics of his fellow beings and despite moving Supreme Court and Federal Services Tribunal he failed in seeking his due right.

Sources said Deputy secretary of Senate Secretariat Malik Arshid Iqbal has sent an appeal plea in the name of Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani stating that he was appointed in Senate Secretariat in 2006 and was promoted as section officer in 2010. He was to be promoted as deputy secretary on February, 14., 2012 but his promotion was deferred due to bogus inquiry of his previous department. The Lahore High Court had declared that inquiry null and void. Despite it he was not promoted to the office of deputy secretary in senate. Instead his junior Ghulam Shabbir was promoted.

He informed senate secretary about this irregularity but his matter was subjected to office politics. He was to be promoted in 2012 but he was promoted in 2013 due to office politics and his junior was made his senior.

He further pleaded one lady Rabia Anwar, deputy secretary who was most junior to him and was not entitled to promotion was promoted as joint secretary due to her political influence. . It is imperative that a deputy secretary with 5 years service in his cadre can only be promoted to joint secretary post.
