SC rejects NAB plea seeking cancellation of bail of former ETO.

ISLAMABAD -- Supreme Court (SC) has rejected the petition filed by NAB seeking cancellation of bail of an accused in forgery case. NAB had filed petition for cancellation of bail in respect of former Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) Quetta who was allegedly involved in forgery case. Ulfat Nasim former ETO was charged with doing registration of non custom paid vehicles through fake documents. The court while upholding the penalty of Rs 30000 against the accused ordered him to pay this amount within a month. In case of default of payment of fine, the accused be awarded punishment of 6 months term in jail. The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) remarked during the course of hearing ' it is 17 years old case.
