Rs8521.43m vehicle tax collected from Karachi in 2020-21.

KARACHI -- Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla, while giving details of collection of motor vehicle tax and property tax in the financial year 2020-21, said on Sunday that in terms of motor vehicle tax, Rs8521.434 million were collected from Karachi and Rs494.174 million from Hyderabad. In the same period, Rs233.420 million was collected from Sukkur and Rs92.363 million from Shaheed Benazirabad. He further said that Rs119.223 million was collected from Larkana and Rs59.434 million from Mirpurkhas for motor vehicle tax. Chwala informed that Rs1520.132 million was collected from Karachi and Rs77.334 million from Hyderabad in terms of property tax. According to Chawla, in terms of property tax, Rs37.501 million were collected from Sukkur and Rs10.241 million from Shaheed Benazirabad, while Rs23.470 million were collected from Larkana and Rs11.197 million from Mirpurkhas.
