Rs200,000 special allowance for anesthetists, says Yasmin.

LAHORE -- Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid said here on Thursday that extra allowance shall be given to anesthetists serving in the District and Tehsil Headquarters hospital. Chairing a meeting at the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, she said that an allowance between 150,000 to 200,000 shall be given to anesthetists in the province.

The meeting was attended by Secretary P and SH Captain (retired), Usman Younis, Additional Secretary Development Omar Farooq Alvi and other officials.

Dr Yasmin Rashid said, 'The summary for the hiring of another 691 positions in the department has been sent to Punjab Public Service Commission. These include 79 seats for anesthetists. The government is trying to ensure the presence of anesthetists at all facilities. The role of anesthetists is vital for surgeries at all district and tehsil headquarters hospitals. The details of surgeries in all hospitals must also be consolidated. Different proposals for another extra allowance for anesthetists serving in far areas were also reviewed.
