Roof collapse kills two children in Dir.

TIMERGARA -- Two children were killed when the roof of a house collapsed in Khall Bar Kaly area here on Monday morning.

The residents said Danish, 6, and Ayeza, 2, buried alive sleeping when the wooden roof of two rooms caved in. The incident damaged household items. The residents demanded of the government to help the poor family rebuild rooms.

CATTLE KILLED: The domestic animals valuing millions of rupees died after the recent rains destroyed cattle pens in different villages of Haripur.

The Beer police told Dawn that during the rainy spell that lasted until Sunday evening, the roof of a cattle pen in Behki village caved in killing a cow and a donkey.

They added that a donkey, two buffaloes, four goats and a dog died after the roof of the livestock enclosures in the same village fell on them due to heavy rains. The police said Mohammad Ishtiaq lost a cow, a buffalo and a donkey in a similar incident in Banda Mughlan village.
