Robbers shoot man over resistance in Clifton.

KARACHI -- A young man was shot and injured by armed robbers over resistance in Clifton on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The Boat Basin police said Shan Aslam, 24, was injured during a dacoity resistance near Park ToAAwers. The victim was shiAfAted to the Jinnah PostAgrAaduate Medical Centre.

SSP-South Syed Asad Raza said Aslam, along with his friend, was taking their selfies near Bagh Ibn-i-Qasim when the arAAmed pillion riders arriAved there and tried to snatch a cell phone from him.

He put up resistance, got hold of one suspect and even tore his kameez.

But another suspect opeAAned fire on him and fled along with his cell phone. He suffered bullet injuries to his shoulder.

The senior officer said the police had got significant clues about the identity of the robbers.

Driver of online taxi service arrested

Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a driver of an online taxi service who had stolen cash and other valuables of his passenger, a Chinese national, at the Hawkesbay beach.
