Robber shot dead in 'encounter'.

KARACHI -- A suspected robber was shot dead and his wounded accomplice arrested in an 'encounter' in the Garden area, police said on Tuesday.

They said that a police team patrolling the Eidgah area spotted some suspects and signalled them to stop. However, the suspects showed weapons to the police and attempted to flee. The police chased them and an exchange of firing began near Jubilee Chowrangi and continued till they reached Police Headquarters Garden.
