RO Plant operators protest for issuance of their withheld salaries.

MITHO -- A large number of employees working Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plants across desert district Tharparkar Thursday started hunger strike at a camp setup here outside local press club to protest against non-payment of salaries since last five months. Employees Babu Mahranpoto, Irfan Bajer, Kaveer Meghwar, Jhaman, Babu Bajer, Rahim Samejo and others told newsmen that their families are starving since last five months due to to non-payment of salaries. 'We are faced with severe financial hardships that would make us to commit suicide,' they told. 'Whenever we approached the concerned authorities, we are sent back with new excuses every time,' they said.
