Risk assessment of govt buildings planned in Lakki.

LAKKI MARWAT -- The local administration here has formed three separate committees to carry out risk assessment of government buildings in the district.

The committees were formed by deputy commissioner Abdul Haseeb on the instructions of KP chief secretary, said an official on Friday. He said that assistant commissioners of Lakki, Naurang tehsil and Betani tribal subdivision would head the committees with representatives of communication and works, local government and other departments as their members.

He said that risk assessment of government buildings had not been carried out so far on the basis of certain indicators like weathering of material used in buildings and time lapsed after construction, water blockages affecting foundations and harsh climate besides the purpose of utilisation of buildings.

He said that risk assessment was aimed at putting in place preventive measures in case the condition of any government building was found to be unsatisfactory.
