Ringing in New Year with Zia Mohyeddin's recital.

LAHORE -- Literature buffs had a memorable New Year night at the Ali Institute of Education (AIE) where Zia Mohyeddin read excerpts from literary pieces in his inimitable style.

The luminary lived up to his billing and entertained the audience by reading excerpts from the literary pieces of many writers and recited poetry of Ahmed Mushtaq.

The literary evening Yaad-e-Raftagan is part of Lahore's cultural calendar for the last 31 years.

The event started with reading of Jameel Jalibi's essay, followed by a piece written by Mirza Farhatullah Baig. Zia Mohyeddin also read a piece on Maulana Charagh Hassan Hasrat and write-ups by Ibne-e-Insha and Mushtaq Yousafi.
