Rickshaw fire burns forest trees.

BAHAWALPUR -- A bunch of trees was burnt when a passing-by rickshaw caught fire along Ahmedpur East Road on Monday.

According to Rescue 1122, its fire tenders rushed to the scene and brought the fire under control. By then, the rickshaw and a vast area of the forest had been perished. Forest officials said the fire had damaged a vast area of the jungle about which the assessment would be made within days. No loss of life was reported.

ACCIDENT: Two people were killed and as many women of a family of Swat suffered serious injuries when the car in which they were travelling to Karachi hit a trailer on the motorway near Uch Sharif interchange on Monday.

According to the police and Ahmedpur East Rescue 1122 office, the car was on its way from Swat to Karachi. The deceased were identified as Muhammad Ali and Rashid Ali while the injured women are Naureen Bibi (80) and Aliza Bibi (30). They were shifted to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital.
