Remote areas to get health, civic facilities, says special assistant.

TAXILA -- The government is making concerted efforts to provide better health facilities in remote areas and special attention has been given in this regard to improve the standard of living of the public, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bokhari said on Monday.

Speaking to the press in Attock, Mr Bokhari said that civic facilities need to be strengthened and education and civic facilities need to be provided to people living in remote areas.

He said the widening of the 38 kilometre Jand-Khunda Road has begun, and will be completed soon. This road will benefit thousands of local residents, he said, and had been a longstanding demand of the people who Jand.

Mr Bokhari added that the road will also benefit the people of Kohat and those who live in the surrounding areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when they travel to Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
