Recreational activities increase at swimming pools.

MULTAN -- Recreational activities have increased at swimming pools as temperature have started soaring to over 40 degree centigrade for the last couple of days in Multan and suburban areas.

A large number of people, especially youngsters, are thronging swimming pools to beat the heat. Most of the swimming pools are situated outside the city, and only some of them in different city areas.

The swimming pool owners have increased bathing charges, and now almost all pools are charging Rs 300 to 500 each person. Earlier, these charges were only Rs 150 to 250 last year.

A youngster namely Mohammad Adnan told reporter here on Monday that bathing provides relief from scorching heat. Bathing at swimming pools not only protects from heat but also provides recreational activity to spend time with friends, he added.

Another youngster, Safdar Hussain told this news agency that they paid bathing fee at swimming pools from their pocket money. He said that some of his friends could not afford Rs 300-500 for bathing at swimming pools.

A swimming pool owner, Mohammad Husnain said that they had invested more than one million on construction of swimming pool and had only two to three months for earning some money every year. He said that they had to pay electricity charges, salaries of staff and other expenses for whole year.
