THE Rawal dam spillways were opened for the second time in history since the dam was raised 1966 according to a report in Dawn Jan15.

According to the report, 2,000 acre feet of water flowed into the dam because of the rains in the catchment area. Out of this, 900 acre feet,was drained into the Korang river. This means that almost 45 per cent of clean water went to waste.
