Rana Sana files another bail petition pointing out 'flaw' in FIR.

LAHORE -- Former provincial law minister Rana Sanaullah Khan on Wednesday filed another petition seeking post-arrest bail on a fresh ground in the alleged 15kg heroin recovery case made by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).

The petition moved through Advocate Farhad Ali Shah mainly relied upon the footage retrieved from the record of the Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA), showing location of Khan's vehicle after his arrest.

The petition argued that the video record established the innocence of the petitioner and contradicted the prosecution's story.

It said that as per the FIR, the vehicle of the petitioner was intercepted by the ANF personnel at Ravi Toll Plaza at 3:25pm on the day of his arrest. Whereas, it said, the record received from the PSCA cameras showed the petitioner's vehicle passing through Doctor Hospital on Canal Road, over 14.5km away from the place of his arrest, at 3:35pm.

The petition submitted that it was not humanly possible that the events narrated in the FIR happened within a short span of ten minutes only. It also questioned a significant delay in registration of the the FIR after Khan's arrest. The petition also termed the case a clear instance of political victimisation.
