Quota of medical colleges admissions for tribal students doubled.

PESHAWAR -- After doubling of quota of merged tribal districts in the medical and dental colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after approval of Pakistan Medical Council (PMC) , the Khyber Medical University (KMU) as announced placement schedule for the year 2019- 20. The placement on merit/choice for the medical/dental students from tribal districts will be held at the multi-purpose hall of the KMU on January 21 at 9:00am. According to details issued by the KMU Director of Admission, the federal cabinet had taken decision of doubling the quota of medical/dental colleges from erstwhile Fata in 2017. However,

he said, the plan was given final approval by the KP government and PMC recently. He said the KMU has issued schedule of admissions under the new policy guidelines. The quota of students from erstwhile Fata in Punjab was 17 which has been increased to 34. The additional quota will be adjusted in Sheikh Zaid Medical College Rahim Yar Khan, Sargodha Medical College, Nawaz Sharif Medical College Gujrat, Sahiwal Medical College, Gujranwala Medical College, Dera Ghazi Khan Medical College, Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College Sialkot, College of Dentistry Lahore, Nishtar Institute of Dentistry Multan and...
