Punjab provincial cabinet convenes session on June 13 for budget approval.

LAHORE -- The Punjab government on Saturday convened a session of the provincial cabinet on June 13 to approve the budget.

The provincial budget for the fiscal year 2022-23 will be in federal format. The budget will introduce a special aid package to control inflation. The prices of food items will be controlled to increase the purchasing power of the people.

The provincial budget will ensure efficient use of energy to reduce load shedding. Special discounts will be given to low-income people in paying their electricity bills. No new tax will be levied in the budget of Punjab for the next financial year.

The concession given in provincial revenue during the budget will be maintained. Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz's facility package of availability of flour in low price will be continued in the next financial year as well.
