PTI leaders slam Sindh govt for 'defaming' police chief.

KARACHI -- Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf's parliamentary leader in Sindh Assembly, Haleem Adil Sheikh, said on Thursday the rulers of Sindh were defaming the province's police despite its huge contribution to making Karachi a safe city.

'For a couple of days now, the Sindh government has started a poisonous disinformation drive against the police department,' said Sheikh, who was also vice president of his party, at a press conference at Insaf House.

Flanked by Opposition Leader in Sindh Assembly Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Sheikh said: 'We have been witnessing for a couple of days now that the disinformation cell of the Sindh government has become very active'.

He said that it seemed only police department was corrupt in Sindh, while the rest were honest, pure and clean. 'Just three days ago Sindh chief minister had claimed Karachi was a safe city. Will the chief minister deny now that Sindh police had also played a crucial role in making Karachi a safe city; or [is] Murad Shah himself policing the megacity,' he said.
