PTI activists demand widening of Lakki road.

The demand was made at a meeting here the other day with party's tehsil president Dr Mohammad Iqbal Khan in the chair.

The participants said the road was in poor condition and needed immediate overhaul.

On the occasion, Dr Iqbal said the potholed road was causing inconvenience to the commuters. He said residents of the city and the rural localities frequently used the road as government offices were located along it.

PTI's former district general secretary Ahmad Nawaz said the potholed road damaged the vehicles, causing losses to the transporters incurred on maintenance of vehicles.

The PTI leaders alleged that local lawmakers were not interested to get funds approved for widening and maintenance of the road. They said residents of the urban locality had lodged complaints about poor road infrastructure, but to no avail.

The old Kutchery road leads to the girls college and links the main bus stand with Manjiwala link road, they maintained, saying that no efforts on part of quarters concerned had been made to get the artery repaired, and demanded of the provincial government to allocate funds for its widening.
