PSB considers PMS officers promotions today.

LAHORE -- The provincial selection board (PSB) is scheduled to meet at the Civil Secretariat on Monday (today) to consider promotion of mainly provincial management services (PMS) officers to BPS-19, 20 and 21.

The PSB-I meeting would be presided over by Chief Secretary Yousaf Naseem Khokhar. It would also consider promotion of some officials of other departments like prosecution and irrigation.

An official said the chief secretary wanted to consider promotion cases of only provincial management services officers to redress their outstanding complaints of receiving a step-motherly treatment with regard to promotions and postings.

Earlier, the PSB-I was to consider promotion of around 70 officers of the provincial management service (PMS) but its meeting was postponed last month, sending a wave of concern among the affected officials.

These officers are in BPS-18, awaiting their promotion to BPS-19 and the rank of additional secretary. They say there is no problem in their promotion, especially due to the availability of the seats after to approval of recruitment against the DTL (deputation, training...
