Protest against Discos privatization.

LAHORE -- The electricity workers observed a protest day throughout the country on Thursday against proposed privatisation of the power distribution companies (Discos).

In Lahore, they staged a rally in front of the press club under the aegis of the All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union.

The workers urged the prime minister to check price hike, aggravating unemployment and abject poverty and proposed privatisation of Discos.

Addressing the workers, union secretary general Khurshid Ahmad demanded the government take steps to end shortage of the line staff.
