Protection of minority rights govt's top priority, says minister.

TAXILA -- Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan has said protecting the rights of minorities is among the top priorities of the government.

He was addressing a function organised by the Christian community in preparation for Christmas at a hotel in Wah Cantt on Friday.

The minister said the community had played a role in the solidarity, development and prosperity of Pakistan. He also appreciated their services in health, education and other sectors.

Mr Khan assured minority communities living in different corners of the country that they would be treated as equal citizens in Naya Pakistan 'unlike what is happening in India'. It is time Pakistanis stand in support of the oppressed people whether they are in Kashmir or anywhere else.
