Probe ordered into baby's death 'due to absence of doctors'.

SUKKUR -- Jacobabad Deputy Commissioner Ghazanfar Ali Qadri on Thursday ordered an inquiry into the death of a two-year-old baby a day earlier allegedly due to absence of duty doctors at the Jacobabad Civil Hospital.

Abdul Ghaffar Khoso, a labourer, had brought his daughter, Nida Khoso, to the hospital for emergency treatment of acute asthma but found no doctor available there to attend the case. He told local reporters that the staff present at the hospital told him to wait for a doctor to arrive and kept assuring him that a doctor would arrive soon. However, he added, no doctor turned up until his daughter breathed her last in his lap.
