Probe into death of Cholistan shepherd.

BAHAWALPUR -- The Cholistan Development Authority (CDA) has instituted an inquiry into the death of a shepherd in Cholistan, whose video went viral online on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Muhammad Nazir, who is believed to have died from dehydration and thirst.

CDA Managing Director (MD) Rana Saleem Ahmed Khan said the body was found near Langawala Toba, which was close to CDA's water pipelines where water was available. He said even in the previous years never such an incident had happened in the desert. He said two lambardars met him and they expressed doubts that the non-availability of water was the cause of Nazir's death as, according to their claims, some bottles of drinking water were also found on him in the desert.
