Price of 20kg flour bag goes up in Charsadda.

CHARSADDA -- The price of 20kg flour bag here has gone up to Rs2,800 and that of fine flour to Rs3,000.

The people, meanwhile, demanded the district administration to play its proactive role to control the prices of flour and other commodities. They called for strict monitoring of dealers to ensure availability of flour to the people.

Also on Friday, teams of the district administration and food department raided designated sale points of subsidised flour.

The officials said that quota of 34 government flour dealers had been cancelled for overcharging customers and violating the rules and regulations. They said that heavy fines would be imposed on the dealers found involved in charging higher than fixed rates.

A team consisting of the district food controller, special price control magistrate and assistant commissioner Alweena Faiz imposed heavy fines on violators of the rates fixed by the government. It also cancelled quota of 34 flour dealers for non-supply...
