PPF organizes safety training workshop for bloggers and human rights activists.

KARACHI -- Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) in collaboration with European Union organized a three-day physical, digital, and psycho social safety training workshop for the bloggers of Sindh and Balochistan and human rights activists, including women, at a local hotel on Friday. The workshop was aimed at providing training to the bloggers and human rights activists to keep them safe from the dangers being faced by them during their professional duties.

The PPF conducted training in view of rising dangers to the freedom of expression. It is the matter of great concern that workers of media and civil society are facing rising cases of physical dangers, online harassment and social and psychological pressures while performing their duties. According to PPF 2020 annual review report on the murders and attacks on media and journalists, during the year so far, 29 cases of abduction, torture, threats and harrasment (online and offline) were under investigation while 13 cases of same nature are related to digital and cyber harrasment in Pakistan.
