Poppy crop destroyed in Mohmand.

GHALANAI -- The police destroyed poppy crop cultivated over a vast area in Prang Ghar tehsil of Mohmand district, officials said on Wednesday.

They said seven people were also arrested for resisting the operation launched on the directives of district police officer Fazal Ahmad Jan.

Sub-divisional police officer Dilfaraz Khan and DSP Khalid Khan led the operation.

Mr Dilfaraz said the drive was carried out in Manry Orya and other localities.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Mohmand chapter in collaboration with the district administration and the education departments launched the Clean and Green Pakistan campaign in Ghalanai on Wednesday.
