Poor inspection of shops: Nine price magistrates issued warning.

CHINIOT -- Nine price magistrates were issued notices for not inspecting shops and business places on Saturday.

A meeting of 28 district price control committee was held here where Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Riaz learned that magistrates made 5,503 inspections in the district and found 690 shopkeepers overcharging and fined them Rs1 million while FIRs were registered against 17 shopkeepers.

The DC expressed his satisfaction over the performance of 21 magistrates, saying it is the duty of the administration to provide relief to masses by keeping prices within reasonable limits fixed by government.

He also expressed displeasure with nine magistrates who did not make even a single inspection in the month.
