Policemen get cash for Covid-19 duty.

KOHAT -- The policemen performing duty on the front-lines in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic received Rs100,000 cash each here on Wednesday.

Former chief justice of Peshawar High Court and member of dispute resolution council, Syed Ibne Ali, president of bar association Javed Ahmed Panji, secretary general Ishtiaq ur Rehman and leaders of business community Azmat Bangash and Israr Shinwari handed over the cheques and cash to the policemen.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the police club on the occasion, DIG Kohat division Tayyeb Hazfeez Cheema said the government had put responsibility of tackling Covid-19 outbreak on police force, which they were discharging in an excellent manner.

He said the police were performing multiple tasks at a time by securing streets, main roads, bazaars and hospitals without any fear. He said few cases of infection did not demoralise their spirits.

He termed the Covid-19 pandemic the second biggest after the war against terror and hoped that the nation would defeat the disease.
