Police use water cannons on teachers.

ISLAMABAD -- Police on Wednesday used water cannons to keep the protesting teachers from reaching the Parliament House.

Scores of teachers from the Basic Education Community Schools (BECS) staged a sit-in at D-Chowk against the federal government for not regularising their services and raising their salaries.

Holding banners and placards, the protesting male and female teachers were demanding that not only their services should be regularised but their salaries should also be brought on par with those of government teachers.
