Police devise safety patrolling plan for sectors.

ISLAMABAD -- The capital police have devised a new sector safety patrolling plan under which more than 30 vehicles would patrol streets of sectors.

According to a press release issued here the plan was formally finalised in a meeting presided over by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Aamir Zulfiqar and was also attended among others by DIG (Operations) Waqaruddin Syed, SSP (Traffic), AIG (Operations), SP (Investigation), SP (Special Branch), Zonal SPs and DSP (Legal).

It was decided that this plan would come into force with immediate effect.

The IGP said purpose of this patrolling plan is to eradicate crime from the city and ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens.

The IGP directed DIG (Operations) to transfer officials with posting period of more than six months in a zone to other zones and poor performers should be transferred to security division.

He reiterated that all Zonal SPs would hold 'Open Kutcheries' in their respective areas on weekly basis and elected representative of the area (Member National Assembly) would be formally invited to the kutcheries.

Islamabad police chief said that relevant SP or SDPO would contact the complainant on phone to inquire whether his issue has been resolved or not.
