MANSEHRA -- The police on Tuesday arrested Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid member of the provincial assembly Mufti Obaidullah after the Peshawar High Court, Abbottabad Circuit Bench, cancelled his pre-arrest bail over the murder of Kolai-Palas district education officer Nawab Ali.

A local court remanded the lawmaker in police custody for one day.

'We arrested MPA Mufti Obaidullah following the cancellation of his pre-arrest bail and produced him before the Kolai-Palas district and sessions judge for physical remand,' head of a joint investigation team of the police Arif Javed told reporters here on Tuesday.
