PMD Issues Alert for Cyclone TEJ in Coastal Areas of Pakistan.

KARACHI -- The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a sixth alert regarding Cyclone TEJ. The PMD reported that Cyclone TEJ, located in the Southwest Arabian Sea, has shifted west-northwestward, intensifying into a Severe Cyclonic Storm (SCS).

The PMD revealed the development of a low-pressure system in the Arabian Sea, currently situated at a significant distance from Pakistan's coastal regions. This weather phenomenon is expected to transform into a cyclonic storm within the next 24 hours, according to PMD reports. Presently, the cyclone is located approximately 1,550 kilometers from Gwadar, suggesting the potential for cyclonic activity in the region. At the moment, the cyclone is situated 380 km from Oman and 290 km from Yemen.

Winds at the center of the cyclone are reported to reach speeds of 170-190 km per hour, generating waves in the sea that are over 45 meters high.
