PM to project climate change, Pak stance on global issues in UN GA session.

ISLAMABAD -- Prime Minister ShehAbaz Sharif will address the UN General AssemAbly on 23rd September in which he will focus on the challenge faced by Pakistan in the wake of the recent climate-inAduced catastrophic floods in the country.

He will outline conAcrete proposals for colAlectively tackling the existential threat posed by climate change.

He will also share PaAkistan's position and perspective on regionAal and global issues of concern, including JamAmu and Kashmir, which is one of the long-standAing unresolved disputes on the UN agenda.

The PM will take up the flood situation and Kashmir issue in his meetings on the sideAlines of the 77th UnitAed Nations General AsAsembly (UNGA) session.

He will also meet US President Joe Biden during his five-day visAit among meetings with other world leaders.

In a communique, the Foreign Office said the premier will hold a numAber of meetings with some of his counterparts besides interacting with the heads of the InternationAal Monetary Fund, and the World Bank. The crucial meetAing between PM Shehbaz and Joe Biden will be the first offiAcial interaction between IslamAabad and Washington as the latAter never called or met former prime minister Imran Khan.

Sharif is presently in the UnitAed Kingdom to represent PaAkistan at the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in London today (September 19) and will then fly to New York to particiApate in the UN General AssemAbly session beginning from SepAtember 20. He will also hold meetings with the heads of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB).
