PM gets briefing on 'Sohna Lahore' project.

LAHORE -- Prime Minister Imran Khan Wednesday chaired a meeting in Lahore to take stock of the ongoing development projects and the administrative matters.

The meeting was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, Chief Secretary, Inspector General Police and senior administrative officers.

The meeting reviewed measures taken for the improvement in the administrative structure.

The PM directed that transparency and merit should be upheld while taking administrative decisions.

He directed that administrative structure be improved for better service delivery and to facilitate the people. He also ordered the concerned officers to take effective measures to provide essential commodities to the people at affordable prices. He said that corruption should not be tolerated at any cost.

Imran Khan directed IG police to develop an effective mechanism to ensure the access of citizens to the police stations and to address their grievances. The prime minister desired that police should perform its duties independent of political influence to provide justice to the people.

Commissioner Lahore Capt (r) Muhammad Usman told the meeting that government was giving special attention to provision of safe drinking water to the citizens besides repair of roads and their beautification. He said WASA was working on the installation of water tanks and water treatment plants for the purpose. He further stated that LDA will complete the renovation work of city's roads in the next six months.
