Plea for PPP lawmaker's disqualification dismissed.

KARACHI -- The Sindh High Court has dismissed a petition seeking disqualification of a Pakistan Peoples Party MPA for holding the post of vice chairman of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB).

A lawyer had moved the SHC in 2021 and pleaded to disqualify MPA Sajid Jokhio on the touchtone of Article 63(1)(e) of the Constitution as he was appointed vice chairman of KWSB in May 14, 2019.

The counsel for the lawmaker and KWSB contended that appointment in question was honourary and without any remuneration or perks/privileges and even otherwise it had been brought to an end in September 2021.
