PINS team contributes to research on life-saving injection.

LAHORE -- Latest medical research conducted at the Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences (PINS), along with other countries, has proved that death rate in cases of head injuries can be reduced if a patient is given Transmic Acid injection within two hours of an accident.

The research was based on 12,737 cases observed in 29 countries during the last seven years.

According to a press release on Saturday, PINS head and neurologist Prof Dr Khalid Mahmud while unveiling the results of this research told the media that out of these 12,737 patients, 4,567 were from Pakistan, while 2,500 were only from the PINS where a senior team undertook this research from 2012 to 2019.

He said it had been proved that without wasting time if a head injury patient was given Transmic Acid injection (and he/she can move their hands or feet) he/she could be out of danger.

Prof Mahmud said it would be recommended that Emergency Service Rescue 1122 staff and others responding to accident situations should carry the injection so...
