Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) has announced "PIMA Virtual Covid Health Line" in view of the growing number of Corona patients and the lack of health facilities. PIMA also reiterated its stance for the government to implement a Health Emergency. 'If serious steps are not taken urgently, the Corona crisis already serious, will have more devastating effects'.

This was stated by Prof Muhammad Afzal Mian, President PIMA center, while addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club on Sunday along with representatives of other doctors' bodies. Prof Muhammad Ashraf Nizami, President PMA Lahore; Prof Tariq Mian, President Pakistan Society of Family physician and Dr Jafar Naqvi from YDA Punjab also spoke on the occasion.

"According to the WHO's recommendations, lockdown should be implemented in all major cities for two weeks on and two weeks off with strict and mandatory social distancing and use of mask. Random testing to pick up cases and contacts, should be done on an adequate sample size".

Prof Muhammad Afzal Mian praised the Government of Punjab and Sindh for improving the SOPs for burials, increasing of covid beds in hospitals and fixing of covid testing prices. "We expect that other recommendations of doctors will...
