PFA discards 38,570 litre tainted milk.

LAHORE -- On the direction of Director General Punjab Food Authority (PFA), dairy safety teams discarded 38,570 litre tainted milk and confiscated 137 litre skimmed milk while 120 litre oil in various operations conducted across the province on Tuesday.

PFA dairy safety teams inspected 2,232 milk carrier vehicles, 238 milk collection centres and in shop a huge amount of 3,400,905 litre milk. Amongst all 175 vehicles, two milk shops and 2 collection centres failed to prove the quality of milk.

Milk carried by vehicles who failed in quality test, discarded on the spot. Director General Punjab Food Authority Rafaqat Ali Nissoana said that in a village of Layya, adulteration of detergents in milk have been witnessed while raiding in milk centre.
