Peshawar, Mardan advance to next round in Shama Inter-District Soccer.

PESHAWAR -- Peshawar and Mardan advanced to next round after securing victories against their respective rivals in the ongoing All Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shama Inter-District Football Championship being played at Younis Stadium Mardan on Sunday.

There were hundreds of spectators who witnessed the thrilling matches part of the ongoing District Championship. The match started on fast tempo and both Peshawar and Dir Upper played well against each other and made some good rallies of attacks.

Peshawar got a golden opportunity of a free kick just in front of the goal-mounth in the 8th minute but the attempt of Shakoor, the deep defender, went wide from the goal-post and thus the threat of goal was averted.

It was in the 13th minute when this time Dir Upper right winger Javed made a good move alongside with his inner trio of Abbas Khan, Asmat Ullah and Rafique Khan was nearer to goal but the attempts of

Abbas Khan were intercepted by Peshawar goal-keeper Khalid nicely.

At the end of the first session both the teams were locked 1-1. It was the second session in which Peshawar got position of the ball by making some good rallies of attacks as a result in the 54th minute when Siraj, the center striker, slammed in a beautiful goal on the field attempt.
