Pesco to complete maintenance of Oghi power lines in eight days.

MANSEHRA -- The Peshawar Electric Supply Company has accepted a demand of the traders of Oghi tehsil to complete maintenance work on the transmission lines within eight days.

'The traders are already suffering the highest-ever inflation and the Pesco's planned power outage for Oghi, if implemented, would have further worsened their financial position,' Sarbaland Khan, president of the trader's body, told a presser in Oghi on Sunday.

He said a group of traders led by him held talks with a Pesco team headed by sub-divisional officer Naveed Khursheed, apprising the officials of the damage to be caused to the traders in case power supply was suspended for two weeks.

'The Pesco officials heard us and announced to reduce the maintenance period from two weeks to eight days, and also assured to recommend to their high-ups to bring down the routine loadshedding time for commercial consumers,' Mr Sarbaland said.

He said the Darband tehsil's power transmission line maintenance period was also reduced to only six days.

SNOWFALL CONTINUES: Snowfall, which continued intermittently on the second day on Sunday in Kaghan, blocked the Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road beyond Naran town, and also disrupted electricity supply system.
