People block road to demand gas supply.

KOHAT -- Hundreds of people of four villages blocked the Indus Highway here the other day to demand early provision of gas facility to their area. Long queues of vehicles were seen on both sides of the road as the protest continued for several hours.

The residents of Mir Banda, Shaheeda Banda, Baqizai and Fazal Banda said at their joint protest rally that the main pipeline from the rigs passed along the road through their collective land, but even then they had been kept deprived of gas.

They chanted slogans against the SNGPL authorities and said that the lawmakers had been promising them the provision of gas for several years, but to no avail.
