Peace under threat after India revoked IoK special status: Qureshi.

ISLAMABAD -- Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi says regional peace and security is under threat due to India's step of revoking the special status of occupied Kashmir. Qureshi said that government has decided to enthusiastically launch campaign to highlight the Kashmir dispute. He said that the peace of the region has been put at stake while besieging the Kashmiri people. Qureshi said that we have raised the Kashmir dispute at every forum of the world. He said that instead of all Indian hurdles the Kashmir issue came under discussion at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). Qureshi said that today the world is rectifying the Pakistani stance. He said that the lockdown is continued in occupied Kashmir from 175 days, adding that practically eight million people are practically prisoners and have become prisoners psychologically.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Thursday along with Special Assistant to PM on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan and Minister for Communications Murad Saeed, he said that no one denies the importance of Kashmir dispute.

He said over one hundred and seventy days have been passed of the lockdown of Kashmir where all fundamental rights stand usurped.

The Foreign Minister said Indian steps reflect its unilateralism and depict its non-seriousness in resolving issues through bilateralism.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the issue was brought to UN Security Council after a lapse of fifty years on 16th of August this year.
