Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry is entering into a long term collaboration with Agriculture Department, the Government of Punjab and Everest International Expo (Pvt). Ltd to foster development and diversification of commercial exchanges and economic cooperation in agriculture sector. A memorandum of understanding is going to be signed between the three organizations on, Saturday 22nd June 2019 at Punjab Agri Expo 2019. A meeting held in this regard today was attended by Mr. Malik Nauman Ahmed Langrial, Minister Agriculture Department, Mr. Ahmed Hasnain, Senior Vice President PCJCCI, Dr. Wasif Khursheed, Secretary, Agriculture Department and Mr. Muhammad Salahuddin Hanif, Secretary General PCJCCI.

Mr. Ahmed Hasnain, Senior Vice President PCJCCI, while commenting on the upcoming MOU said, whether in cotton or wheat, or many other agricultural products, the yield per acre in Pakistan is lower than both China and India. Our lower agricultural productivity means that Pakistani farmers are unable to compete with their counterparts in other countries around the world, he added.

PCJCCI aims to conduct different workshops and B2B meetings with Chinese companies for learning innovative and better techniques of farming, he said adding that PCJCCI would make investments with the help of Chinese companies, in new seeds, farming technology, and techniques, mechanization and the water infrastructure which will ensure...
