LAHORE -- Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Senator Sirajul Haq has said that the parliament is almost non-functional and the prime minister makes decisions even without consulting his cabinet.

Addressing the opening session of the JI Shoora at Mansoora on Friday, he said the bad governance and ill-planned economic policies even turned the supporters of the PTI desperate and hopeless.

Three-day JI Shoora meeting will conclude on Sunday and it will discuss at length the political situation, Kashmir and organizational matters.

'The Senate has not met for four months while the National Assembly session occasionally held only for 10 minutes which is a joke with those people who sent their representatives to the parliament,' said Sirajul Haq, adding the prime minister's claim to end corruption and start a ruthless across the board accountability were also proved a pack of lies. He said the prime minister had made repeated references to the powerful justice system and across the board accountability in the developed nations but he himself included the people with tainted images in the his party ranks and government team. He said the ruling party deceived the masses with the slogan of 'Naya Pakistan'.
