Parking of vehicles along Saiful Muluk lake to be banned.

MANSEHRA -- The government has decided to ban the parking of vehicles, including jeeps, along the banks of the Saiful Muluk lake insisting it is an environment friendly move.

'We want to provide a pollution-free environment and maximum facilities to the people visiting the Saiful Muluk lake. Besides other initiatives, we are also going to establish a management complex there, where spaces for health and police departments will also be available,' divisional wildlife officer Syed Taimur Shah told reporters here on Wednesday.

He said a meeting chaired by the commissioner of Hazara division and attended by the deputy commissioner, director of the Kaghan Development Authority finalised a plan to develop a modern parking space on the road leading to the Saiful Muluk lake.

The official said the vehicles would be allowed to park one kilometer from the lake's banks.

He said as the Saiful Muluk lake fell on the premises of the wildlife department-owned national park, we have to create a recreational spot along with a parking lot before the start of the tourist season in the middle of May,' he said.

Official says efforts on to promote tourism in Hazara

Mr Shah said a commercial zone would be created almost a kilometre away from Saiful Muluk lake, which would have facilities including mini cabins.

'These moves conform to the government's tourism promotion vision, which is meant to attract more and more tourists here,' he said.
