Pakistani boys rout India in ITF Asia 12 and U Team Event.

LAHORE -- Pakistani boys played tremendous tennis against arch-rivals India and outsmarted them by 2-1 in the ITF 12 and U Team Competition South Asian Qualifying 2021, that concluded on Wednesday at PTF Complex Islamabad.

According to PTF spokesman, Pakistan recorded an emphatic 2-1 victory against India after fighting back bravely from 2-6, 0-5 down in the deciding doubles match to win the second set 7-5 and then taking the match tie-break 10-5. Both Pakistan and India qualified for the next round of competition in Nur-Sultan Kazakhstan in November.

Earlier in the first boys' singles, Pakistan's Hamza Roman was up against Ojas Mehlawat of India. Both the players played well against each other before Hamza holding his nerves and winning the first set 6-4 while the second set also proved to be identical to the first one, which Hamza won with same score of 6-4 to provide Pakistan 1-0 lead. Abubakar Talha of Pakistan couldn't resist India's Aarav Chawla well, thus lost the second match with a score of 2-6, 0-6.

In the girls' event, Pakistan overwhelmed Maldives 3-0 to qualify for Kazakhstan along with India, who finished the event unbeaten after comfortably defeating Nepal 3-0.
